About Us
The first issue of Christian Computing Magazine (CCMag) was published January 1989. CCMag has helped to keep its readers informed on software, services and other areas of technology, pertaining to how it relates to the Christian community, the church and ministry.
During the early years, CCMag’s main purpose seemed to be to just convince people that the computer was a vital tool for ministry. Over time, that mission has changed as churches began to accept the use of computers and technology. The new mission of CCMag was to help its readers, “Apply Tomorrow’s Technology to Today’s Ministry.” CCMag seeks to provide information to help churches accomplish their mission (purpose) by using new services, software and tools as they become available.
Steve Hewitt, Editor-in-Chief and Founder of CCMag sums it up this way, “We are constantly seeking new software and services that we believe will help to enable the churches of today do a better job of ministry. We seek to introduce these products and services to readers who are looking for solutions to increase their ministry. We are the bridge of information for both the software and service companies, and the church leaders they are trying to help.”
Each issue of CCMag seeks to provide the information on the latest software and technical services. It also seek s to provide “how too” article, helping to give its readers the aid they need to apply new techniques. And, CCMag seeks to inspire the church of today to use every means at its disposal, in order for the church to accomplish its needed missions.
CCMag is more than just a print magazine. CCMag was THE first Christian magazine on the Internet. Today, it continues to provide a dynamic web presence, providing its readers “value added” services online.
There is a reason Christian Computing Magazine has been around for so long. It is because we continue to meet the needs of our readers. We are quick to change with technology and provide up-to-date information on the latest software and services for churches and Christians who seek to keep informed.
Besides publishing Christian Computing Magazine and providing a dynamic web presence, CCMag holds Technology and Ministry Conferences across the nation and sponsors the National Association of Christian Technology Ministers.
